Mission:

DISA CIO provides DISA a secure, state-of-the-art network and information technology (IT) infrastructure; corporate IT policy; enterprise applications; knowledge management; transformation and process improvement consulting services; and enterprise architecture and IT capital planning that promote effective and efficient business processes in support of a wide range of Agency and Department of Defence IT initiatives.

DISA CIO provides value-added, leading-edge information technology (IT) and IT resource management and services to enable its customers' success.

The DISA Information Technology Division (ITD) creates and coordinates IT policy, principles, standards and guidelines. It provides technical support for the implementation of DoD systems and capabilities such as Web sites, smart cards, biometrics, messaging, and public key infrastructure (PKI) within DISA. ITD chairs or participates in special IT task forces, intra and interagency studies, and research and development(R&D) efforts. The division develops the DISA enterprise architecture.
